Update & Prayer Request for DareBear...

Since my last post regarding DareBear, she has returned home to my sister. She is happy and has adjusted back into our family fabulously. Please pray with us that the Lord will allow her to remain a permanent part of our family, and that if that is not His will, she will be unconditionally loved and shown Christ wherever she may end up. We love her dearly and want what is best for her! It's hard not to protect our hearts during this time as it has been, and looks to continually be, a very emotional journey.

Praising the Lord for Kelsey's PUMP!!!

Yes, Kelsey is finally all hooked up and pumpin' insulin! It is such a wonderful tool for managing her diabetes. We are no longer looking to keep her in the 80-180 range using multiple shots a day. We are actually targeting a specific number; 120 during the day and 150 at night! And to do this, it requires an infusion set change once every three days! Granted, there will be days (like yesterday) when we go through more than one set (we went through three). But ideally, one poke every three days versus 3-5 a day!!! ...and the possibility of better blood glucose control, and more eating flexibility for Kelsey. We are so excited and I am so proud of her!

While we still need to be constantly checking blood glucose levels, we have so much more flexibility. Yeah, for insulin pumps! Thank you, Lord (for the pump & for Nurse Jillian who has helped us so much)!!!
